Psychic Uri Geller insisted England won thanks to the 1966 World Cup ball brought to Britain by The Mirror.

He said: --- I borrowed the ball and held it up on the screen on GMTV and asked viewers to touch it.

"The ball has such amazing energy I urged everyone watching the game to visualise it during the match."

"I'm sure that helped us get the right result. I also gave one of the players one of my crystals which he placed in a special spot during the game."
