Mind From
Mind Force Exploring the Mysteries of Everyday Life By Guy Lyon Playfair The
Tyrell mechanics reported a genuine miracle in their pit at Silverstone... Psychokinesis,
or PK, means movement caused by the mind. As we shall see, there is plenty of
it about, and it turns up in some unexpected places. Here's an extract from the
motoring magazine Autocar, dated 29 July 1998 : TYRELL
MAGIC

| Uri
Geller : With the 18mm chrome vanadium spanner he bent in the Silverstone pits.
| "The
Tyrell mechanics reported a genuine miracle in their pit at Silverstone. Before
their very eyes, Uri Geller smoothed his fingers along an eighteen-millimeter
combination Snap-On spanner and it bent as though it were made of spaghetti. Uri
Geller, of course, has been bending spoons and keys all over the world for more
than 30 years. But a spanner ? Although I have known Uri well for 15 years, I
found this latest exploit exceedingly hard to believe, so I decided to contact
the Tyrell driver Ricardo Rossett at his home in Brazil and asked if he could
confirm the remarkable incident. He
could indeed. "Uri came as my guest," he told me, "and bent some spoons for us
in the pit. Then one of the mechanics handed him a spanner and asked if he could
bend that as well. Uri agreed to try, but he needed a lot of people around. There
were about 10 of us watching, and it took a while. He held it by one end an rubbed
it in the middle, then took his other hand away and it just bent - upwards." Now
this was a tool made of chrome vanadium, a metal known for it's strength and high-temperature
stability. It was designed to be completely reliable in the life-or-death world
of Formula One engineering, and intended not to bend under any circumstances. The
Tyrell mechanics tried to straighten it in a vice themselves - and gave up in
despair. Geller was given the spanner to add to his collection of memorabilia.
I also tried to bend the spanner by force, without the slightest success. Those
who still insist that Uri is just a clever magician have some explaining to do.
