SPOON BENDING 'MIRACLE'
And the Lynn News own Lynda Corrigan and super-skeptical photographer Matthew Usher both admitted to being amazed by Uri's spoon bending abilities.
Matthew said off the cuff and without any preparation Uri took an ordinary Corn Exchange spoon from Lynda's coffee saucer, and offered to bend it for a picture opportunity. He rubbed it gently between his thumb and forefinger and, close up and before their eyes, it began to bend.
Matthew said Uri placed the spoon on a tabletop and still it continued to curl up.

I arrived at Uri's house with my full complement of cameras and lights. In addition, I brought a solid spoon that was originally my grandmother's. Uri allowed me to photograph the whole process as he bent the spoon by focussing his energy, and lightly touching the spoon at the same time. Incredibly, it started to bend while I held it. I then placed it on a table, and we watched as it bent some more. Uri is a high energy, passionate, and kind man. In addition, he is a painter and sculptor. Barry Shainbaum 2000. Ken Russell's Film Mindbender
Ken Russell's film Mindbender, was inspired by Uri Geller's life story, Uri himself appears at the end of the film for an interactive psychic experiment.
Uri Geller with Vice President Al Gore, Yuli M. Vorontsov, First Deputy Foreign Minister of the Soviet Union and Anthony Lake (then National Security advisor, later head of the CIA), and Senator Claiborne Pell, Chairman of the US Senate Foreign Relations Committee. Uri's task was to mentally bombard Yuli Vorontsov and the group at the Nuclear Arms Reduction Treaty Negotiations in Geneva, Switzerland, to sign the nuclear treaty, which they did.
